Engineers of all sorts utilize the design thinking method. While there are many variations of design thinking processes, they all emphasize the importance of empathy early in the design process. Whether you are planning a birthday party or designing the sleep quarters on the International Space Station, having an understanding of the many perspectives of the users will ensure that you ultimately meet the needs of your consumers.
